Psychiatrist, Specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Dr. Hunter is board certified in General as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association as well as a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Southern Medical Association. Dr. Hunter attended the University of Texas Medical Branch and received his general psychiatry training at the Medical University of South Carolina and his child and adolescent psychiatry training at Boston Children's Hospital.
A child and adolescent psychiatrist uses a knowledge of biological, psychological, and social factors in working with patients. He will design a plan of treatment which considers all the factors and discusses these recommendations with the child or adolescent and family.An integrated treatment approach may involve individual or family psychotherapy; medication; and/or consultation with other physicians or professionals.He doesn't (well hardly ever) give shots.

Anxiety Disorders
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Eating Disorders
Developmental Disabilities

The office will be closing effective February 28, 2026. After this date, I will no longer be available to provide medical or psychiatric care.
